Connectors to Keep Clean & Cover
It has come to light that there are issues with the DPF harnesses that have been unplugged on these trucks. If you are experiencing any transmission or glow plug issues, please ensure all the connectors you have unplugged along the frame rail for the DPF are clean, corrosion-free, and greased up or sealed up to prevent any shorting. We recommend covering the connectors entirely to prevent any further problems.
Also, please unplug the connector beside the ECM plug closest to the center of the engine. (Photo below). Customers have experienced shifting issues, transmissions stuck in 5th gear, as well as hard starting in the cold. No permanent damage has been caused, but the circuits are all connected and are causing communication issues between the modules.
