Check Kit Contents

Before you start, it's crucial to check the contents of your kit. Ensure you have the following items:

| Quantity | Part Number | Description |

|----------|-------------|-----------------------------------|

| 1 | CAC | SOTF SWITCH |

| 1 | SWITCH | KNOB WITH ALLEN KEY |

| 1 | WIRE | LOOM |

| 1 | DRILL | TEMPLATE AND LEVEL STICKER |

| 1 | CONNECTOR | |

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Step 1: Routing the Switch Wires

Use a wire insertion tool or an equivalent tool to route the switch wires from inside the cab. Pass them through one of the grommets in the firewall and into the engine bay. Once the wires are in the engine bay, route them over to the CAC sensor. Be careful not to damage any other wiring while routing the switch wires through the firewall.

Step 1

Step 2: Unplugging the Temperature Sensor

Locate the charge air cooler temperature sensor on the cold side charge pipe and unplug it.

Step 2

Step 3: Assembling the Connector

Assemble the supplied connector by installing the switch wires into it. Polarity does not matter. Once the connector is assembled, plug it into the factory harness. Install the wire loom over the wires and secure them away from any heat or moving parts to prevent damage. Ensure the blue seals are fully inserted, and you should feel a definitive click when the pins are engaged.

Step 3

Step 4: Mounting the Switch

Moving to the inside of the vehicle, mount the switch on the Powerstroke SOTF mounting bracket by the OBD2 connector (FTBracketFord (99-16) or FTBracketFord (17-19)) if purchased with your switch. If you did not purchase a mounting bracket, find a suitable location to mount the switch, ensuring there is enough room behind the panel for it to fit.

Once you have found the location for the switch, use the optional drill template to drill the main 3/8 hole and the locating 1/8 hole. If you prefer not to drill the second hole, you can cut off the anti-rotation tab on the switch. Install the optional switch position sticker over the hole.

Now, install the switch by removing the nut and lock washer with a 1/2 wrench. It’s recommended to cycle the switch back and forth to confirm it is set for five power levels. You should hear and feel four clicks when cycling the switch. If it is set improperly, remove the tabbed washer, cycle the switch all the way left, reinstall the tabbed washer in the #5 hole, and confirm operation.

Now install the switch in the hole and reinstall the lock washer and nut, being careful not to over-tighten, as the threads are plastic and can strip easily. The knob can now be installed, locking it in place with the set screw and supplied Allen key. Reassemble any panels removed during the switch installation.

Step 4

Step 5: Finalizing the Installation

Install the wiring loom on the remaining wires and tie them up under the dash using zap straps. Complete a final check on the switch installation to ensure everything is secure and functioning properly.

Conclusion

Following these steps will help you successfully install your switch. Remember to double-check all connections and ensure that everything is in place. Enjoy the enhanced performance and functionality that comes with your new installation!
